Enter your Initial Grade (your computed weighted grade before transmutation) and this tool converts it to the Transmuted Grade that appears on your report card, using the official table from DepEd Order No. 8, s. 2015. Everything runs in your browser — nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Based on DepEd Order No. 8, s. 2015. Confirm with your school which table applies to your grade level this school year.
Transmutation is the final step in the K to 12 grading process. Your teacher does not transmute individual test scores — transmutation is applied only after your Initial Grade has been computed from your weighted components.
Get the total raw score for each component — Written Works, Performance Tasks, and Quarterly Assessment.
Divide each total raw score by the highest possible score.
Multiply by 100% to get the Percentage Score.
Multiply each Percentage Score by that component’s weight to get the Weighted Score.
Add all Weighted Scores together. This sum is your Initial Grade.
Convert the Initial Grade using the transmutation table. The result is your Transmuted Grade — the number on your report card.
Why 60 Becomes 75
Two anchor points explain the whole table:
An Initial Grade of 60.00 transmutes to 75 — the minimum passing grade.
The lowest grade that may appear on a report card is 60, no matter how low the Initial Grade falls. An Initial Grade of 0–3.99 still shows as 60.
Because 60 is treated as the midpoint of the reportable scale, the failing range (Initial Grades 0–59.99) is compressed into report card grades 60 to 74, while the passing range (60–100) is spread across 75 to 100. That is why failing grades move in wide 4-point jumps while passing grades move in narrow 1.6-point steps.
An Initial Grade of 0 to 3.99 still shows as 60 on the report card — but the learner does not advance. A transmuted 60 is a failing grade. The floor exists so report cards use a consistent scale, not to soften a failure.
Important: DepEd Is Phasing Out Transmutation
This is the part most transmutation calculators online have not caught up with.
Under DepEd Order No. 015, s. 2026, the Department of Education is moving to a standards-based, zero-based grading system in response to concerns about grade inflation, inconsistent promotion standards, and the accuracy of learner assessment data.

What applies
Up to SY 2025–2026
The DepEd Order No. 8, s. 2015 transmutation table (the one in the calculator above)
SY 2026–2027
An adjusted transmutation table as a transition step, for Key Stages 2 to 4
From SY 2027–2028
Transmutation removed for Grades 4 to 12 — a raw grade of 75 becomes a final grade of 75, with no adjustment
What changes in the transition year
Under the adjusted table for SY 2026–2027, an Initial Grade of 70.00 corresponds to a transmuted passing grade of 75 — not 60.00 as under the old table. Initial Grades below 70 map to transmuted grades from 60 to 74, with 60 still the minimum reportable grade. The adjusted table remains a mathematical conversion applied only after the Initial Grade is computed, bounded to the 60–100 scale.
Because the passing threshold moves from an Initial Grade of 60 to an Initial Grade of 70, the same raw performance produces a lower report card grade in the transition year than it did before. Ask your school which table applies to your grade level this school year before relying on any calculator, including this one. For Grade 12 learners not yet on the Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum in SY 2026–2027, the DepEd Order No. 8, s. 2015 component weights still apply alongside the adjusted transmutation table.
What This Means for Scholarship Applicants
Nearly every scholarship in the Philippines reads the transmuted grade on your report card, not your Initial Grade — so transmutation directly affects whether you clear a cut-off:
Provincial programs such as Cebu’s CP-GIFTS require an 85% general weighted average
Batangas province requires no grade below 86 under one of its schemes
Honors classifications — With Honors, With High Honors, With Highest Honors — are computed from transmuted grades, and programs like Isabela’s BRO-Ed pay different amounts by honor level
Once you have your transmuted grades, use our GWA Calculator to compute your general weighted average, or the Weighted Grade Calculator to work out a final grade from components.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is grade transmutation?
It is the conversion of a computed Initial Grade into the grade reported on a K to 12 report card, using a fixed table set by DepEd. It is applied once, after the Initial Grade is computed from weighted components.
What Initial Grade do I need to pass?
Under DepEd Order No. 8, s. 2015, an Initial Grade of 60.00 transmutes to 75, the passing mark. Under the adjusted table for SY 2026–2027, an Initial Grade of 70.00 transmutes to 75 instead.
Why is the lowest grade on my report card 60?
Sixty is the minimum reportable grade under the transmutation table. Any Initial Grade from 0 to 3.99 still appears as 60, though it remains a failing grade and the learner is not promoted.
Is transmutation being removed?
Yes. Under DepEd Order No. 015, s. 2026, transmutation will be removed for Grades 4 to 12 beginning School Year 2027–2028, with a raw grade of 75 corresponding directly to a final grade of 75.
Do colleges transmute grades too?
No. Transmutation is a DepEd basic education policy. Colleges and universities use their own grading scales, most commonly the 1.0–5.0 scale where 1.0 is highest.
Does transmutation affect my scholarship eligibility?
Yes, because scholarships read the transmuted grade on your report card. A cut-off such as an 85% general weighted average is measured against transmuted grades, not Initial Grades.
Can a teacher change my raw scores after remedial work?
No. Raw scores are not altered after remediation. The purpose of remedial sessions is for the learner to master the competency and perform better on the next summative assessment.
Which table should I use this school year?
Confirm with your school. The DO 8, s. 2015 table applies through SY 2025–2026; an adjusted table applies in SY 2026–2027; and transmutation ends for Grades 4 to 12 from SY 2027–2028.
